MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution
The MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution is a level 4/5, high/maximum security level facility for adult males located outside of Windsor Locks, CT. Based on its inmate population, it is the largest correctional facility in New England.
During construction of a new facility at the prison, George A. Keene installed 300 cells consisting of 60 cells in each of five new buildings plus 250 hollow metal doors and frames and hardware (Corbin Russwin and Airtec locks). Keene's depth of experience and thorough project management resulted in completion of the installation in about 3 months, testimony to the company's efficiency.
Highlights of the project include miles of pneumatic lines used to open and close cell doors. Keene provided a turnkey installation including holding tanks, compressors and dryers necessary to keep the pneumatic lines clear and operating properly.
