Broward County, Florida
Broward County in South Florida has six jail facilities managed and maintained by the Broward Sheriff's Office. The high humidity of the South Florida climate requires that facilities be regularly maintained and retrofitted so as to prevent corrosion and ensure continued performance of detention equipment and cells.
George A. Keene was called in by Broward County to remove and replace 400 cell doors and frames at one of the county's older institutions. The intricacies of detention facility construction and the age of the facility required a company with an intimate knowledge of such construction. With 62 years of experience, Keene was the answer.
Keene's experienced field team had worked with similar detention facilities and understood what needed to be done. They were able to work quickly while providing a retrofit solution designed to withstand the South Florida climate including rust-inhibiting coatings and fittings.
